Abul Kalam Design Challenge (AKDC) 2022
The AKDC 2022 was held at LEJ campus on 27th May 2022 in collaboration with IMechE, NED Chapter. The challenges involved the application of engineering knowledge, creativity and problem-solving skills to a certain predefined problem and required participants to design, present and fabricate a device that completes the prescribed challenge with the best performance among all the competing teams.
For AKDC 2022, the participants had to design, build and test a device to simulate a "line launcher". The teams had to produce a small-scale indoor device, to fire a squash ball attached to the line launcher at a horizontal target, from various distances. The participants gave a short presentation explaining their design and the development of their device, they demonstrated their verbal and presentational skills, and answered questions from the judges.
