The Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Neurocomputation Lab, NED University observed the "International Day for Persons with Disabilities" at the LEJ Campus on 3rd December 2022. 

Around 286 participants attended the event. The differently-abled persons such as those having muscular dystrophy, blindness, neurological disorders, psychological disorders, and drug addiction were present.
Moreover, the caregivers and doctors as well as government officials attended and appreciated the event. The differently-abled persons showed their talent while the guest speakers highlighted the medical and technological aspects of rehabilitation in addition to the initiatives at personal, community, and governmental levels.

The unique aspect of this celebration was the exhibition of locally developed assistive and diagnostic devices. Event participants experienced first-hand demonstrations and tested these technologies developed at NED University.

We thank the organizers of this wonderful event including the faculty members of Biomedical Engineering, Neurocomputation Lab, Muscular Dystrophy Association Pakistan, Ma Ayesha Memorial Center, BME Corporation, and last but not least the very energetic volunteers who made this event successful and played their role to spread smiles and hope among the participants.
