B.Engg. in Biomedical Engineering
Welcome to the undergraduate academics section. This section provides the key regulations to help you navigate your academic journey from admission to graduation.
Eligibility Criteria
The candidate must have passed the Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC - Part I & II) or an equivalent foreign examination (like A-Levels).
A minimum of 60% marks in aggregate for the Biomedical Engineering program.
Subject Requirements
You must have studied Pre-Engineering subjects (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry)/ Pre-Medical (Biology, Physics, Chemistry)/ Computer Science (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science)
Program Structure & Duration
Bachelor's of Biomedical Engineering is a full-time, dedicated degree. Candidates are not allowed to be enrolled in any other institutions simultaneously. Standard duration for a B.E. degree is four years (maximum seven years). As per the revised scheme of studies, a total of 136 credit hours is required to be completed for the award of the degree, out of which 6 credit hours are dedicated to the final year design project.
Registration & Probation Policies
Probation & CGPA: You must maintain a minimum CGPA of 2.00. Falling below this will place you on academic probation, with restrictions on course registration.
Course Registration: You can register for a maximum of 21 credit hours per regular semester.
Withdrawal: You may withdraw from a course or a semester under specific conditions and within strict deadlines.
Final Year Design Project Guidelines
FYDP is a compulsory requirement and involves a range of activities including literature review, problem analysis, design, modelling and simulation using various methods and means including hardware and software tools to demonstrate a functional concept including rapid prototyping, where applicable.
FYDP will span over two consecutive semesters, i.e. 7th/Fall and 8th/Spring Semesters, totaling 6-credit hours. The assessment of a FYDP will be carried out through well-defined mechanism of rubrics and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
